Often when patients are considering a facelift they are actually talking about multiple facial procedures to reduce the signs of aging. Despite common misconceptions regarding the procedure, a true facelift focuses only on the cheeks, lower face and neck. However, there are other procedures to lift the brow and tighten eyelids. During a facelift procedure, we thin excess fatty tissue in the jowls, tighten muscle layers, and re-drape the skin to give your lower face a tighter, more youthful look. The incisions are hidden in the natural creases around and inside the ear.

Although it's a change in the skin you'll notice, it's actually the work we do under the surface - restructuring the muscle and tissue - that really makes the difference. Some patients also elect to balance their facial bone structure with implants at the same time as the facelift.

After a facelift, most patients can return to work or normal activity within two weeks although it may take a month or longer to look your very best.
