Introducing Radiance, a new synthetic material made of components well-known to be biocompatible. Each of the elements in Radiance has an extensive record of safe clinical use in a range of applications. Radiance is composed of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite(CaHA), the same material that is a major component of bone and teeth. It is suspended in a carrier gel of sodium carboxymethylcellulose, glycerin and water.

After injections, the body will resorb the gel during the first several weeks to months, with cells from the surrounding tissue replacing the gel carrier around the small solid particles of CaHA. The solid particles slowly degrade and are resorbed by the body through natural mechanisms lasting approximately 2 – 5 years.
